Smoking Kimono Top

I made this top from some crushed panne velvet:

smokingkimono

My mother artist friends think it is the female version of the smoking jacket. Where are my playgirl bunnies, I ask you?

Meet my new dress form, Alice.

I can't decide if I will resume blogging here, or keep everything over at kali_mama. I have a few months before my premium comes due.

I did finish the vintage culottes. I'll try to post a pic soon.

Updates

Here are some sewing and knitting updates, to inspire myself:

I just finished these vintage pencil pants

in black twill.

I also recently finished these wide-legged, high-waisted, jean/pants:

High-Waisted-Pants

I am beginning to sew these vintage culottes:

The long version, A, also in black cotton twill.

(Xanga has changed while I've been away. Weird photo options.)

And now for the knitting progress:

yogamatbag

felted yoga mat bag zombie knitting

tweedycardiprogress

Norah Gaughan's Tweedy Aran Cardi

therectangle

A garter stitch, mohair shawl for my MIL which I affectionately call "The Rectangle." More zombie knitting.

spiralscarf

A spiral scarf, my "design." (AKA how many stitches do I need to get the width I want?) Technique stolen from Teva Durham.

socksprogress

My husband's Father's Day socks for 2001. I hope this isn't indicative of our relationship in any way. Ready to turn the heel.

cityscapeprogress

Cityscape fair-isle hat, my design.

A Good Bias shrug

There, now let's hope I will finish something. Right after the holidays, that is. I do have an important Shadow Knitting Skull hat to knit for a nephew for Christmas first.

Don't worry. I'll be back to check on my Xanga friends.

Be sure to check out all my blogs, which are organized by subject.

Samples from the Natural Dye Class

If you click on the photo, it should take you to a larger one where you can read the card. Okay, my card is messy. I considered straightening it out, but I won't be trying to reproduce these results anyway. I'll be using these as raw materials for a *fabulous* correspondence art piece.

Wool roving (on left) from left to right: red cabbage, mulberry, and bindweed.
